Thank you for visiting our website. The Alton Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school at the centre of our local community, located just by Richmond Park. We were judged Ofsted 'Good' in November 2019 and are part of the Quality First Education Trust.

School Tours

A school tour is a great way to see our wonderful school and ask any questions you may have. We hold regular in-person school tours, usually on the first Tuesday of every month. If you would like to book a place on a tour, please email Mrs Gibbs on admin@thealton.q1e.org.uk or call us on 020 8876 8482.

How to Apply

The Alton School accepts in-year transfers from Reception to Year 6 directly, so please make an enquiry by telephoning us on 020 8876 8482 or emailing us at admin@thealton.q1e.org.uk. 

You may also apply through Wandsworth Council's admissions department if you prefer. To apply through Wandsworth, please visit their website, email admissions@wandsworth.gov.uk or call them on 020 8871 7316.

We are always very happy to help if you have questions before applying, would like to know if there might be a place available, or would like to arrange a tour of the school to find out more. Please contact the School Office and they will be happy to help, answer your questions or arrange a tour.  

Children are admitted to school during the year as long as the class has vacancies. We would expect you to visit the school and meet with the Headteacher prior to admission. If your child has Special Education Needs or English as a second language it is important for us to share information so that we can prepare together for a positive start to school. It is our procedure to contact the previous school before confirmation of a place.
