Our Base is called The Woodland Centre

The Woodland Centre is for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with associated learning difficulties.

RECENT CONSULTATION ON OUR RESOURCE BASE PROVISION

Wandsworth Local Authority recently reviewed the availability of school places for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They identified specific groups of children whose needs could not be met through a local school offer, notably those on the autism spectrum with associated learning difficulties.

To support the local authority and meet the needs of more children in our community, the Q1E Trust has re-designated The Alton School's resource base. Our current pupils will not be affected.

More details of our consultation on the recent change.

Applying for a place in our Resource Base

Wandsworth’s Special Educational Needs department manages applications for a place in our Resource Base for Autism.

If you are considering applying for a place in our Resource Base, there are a few things you need to know:

  • Your child must have a diagnosis of Autism or going through the Autism assessment process
  • Your child must have an associated learning difficulty
  • Your child must have an Education, Health and Care Plan

Please contact the Wandsworth Borough Council SEND team at EDSNAS@wandsworth.gov.uk and request a consultation for a place at the school.

Decisions are based on children’s needs and availability of places at the Resource Base.
