The Alton is a vibrant and supportive place to work. We are a welcoming, inclusive community school, next to Richmond Park, in Roehampton, south west London. We are passionate about children achieving their best and enjoying their learning, providing a safe and purposeful learning environment which nurtures and challenges all our children.

Resource Base (ASD) Teacher for September 2024

We are seeking a great SEN teacher to join our School in Roehampton.  

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as part of the development of our newly established ASD Resource Base (opened in October 2023) within our inclusive mainstream primary school.  

Our Resource Base aims to provide a supportive education for students on the autism spectrum, meeting their needs and helping them to prepare them for the next stage of their education. Students accessing the base will have the advantages of small-class specialist provision, tailored to young people on the autistic spectrum. Students will, where appropriate, mix socially and learn together with the students from the wider school community.

Do you enjoy working with ASD children and have the vision to help them succeed?

If so you why not join our brand new ASD resource base which opened in October 2023?

The Alton is an inclusive inner London primary school situated next to Richmond Park.  In October 2023 we set up a new ASD resource base to provide a supportive education for students with autism.

Your main priorities will be to support a small specialist provision class tailored to young people on the autistic spectrum, working with them to ensure their educational and emotional needs are met and promoting positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.  You will establish professional relationships with the new pupils and their families as well as with other staff in the school.  You will promote an inclusive culture and where appropriate support students to mix socially with students from the wider school community.

The Alton is an inclusive inner London primary school situated next to Richmond Park. Your main priorities will be to support a class of young people, providing support to the whole class and  coaching children on a 1:1 or small group basis. Working with children to ensure their educational and emotional needs are met and promoting positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.  You will establish professional relationships with the new pupils and their families as well as with other staff in the school.
